With a $299.99 price tag and a weight of 2.33 pounds, the 8.9″ Acer AOA150 is not only one of the most affordable netbooks around today, but also one of the easiest to carry around.

You will find very few major faults on the AOA150. The glossy screen looks nice indoors, but is not practical outdoors. When you look at the trackpad, you will also see that the buttons are on either side – which may take a few days for some to get used to. Despite this, whether you’re a professional, or a student, this netbook is perfect.

  • Buttons are on either side of the trackpad which may take time to get used to.
  • The RAM can only be upgraded to a maximum of 1.5GB.
  • The trackpad is fairly small.

  2. Speed and Performance – 1 star. It has the standard 1.6 GHz Atom N270 Processor.
  3. Screen – 0.5 star. Fairly good screen. Being glossy makes it fairly difficult to use near bright lights.
  4. Keyboard and Usability – 0.5 star. The keyboard is great but the touch pad is small and the buttons are on either side. It may take a while for some users to adjust to.
  5. Portability and Battery Life – 1 star
  6. Looks and Design – 0.5 star
  7. Connectivity & Extensibility – 0.5 star. The 6-cell battery sticks slight out of the back.

Acer AOA150 Review - Our Recommendation

For casual users and for those with budgets, the AOA150 is a great netbook. The AOA150 has the great keyboard which you can type on all day, the 160GB hard drive to store all your music, movies and videos. The 1.3 MP integrated webcam which you can use to chat to your friends and family.

While more advanced Netbook users may want a more powerful and more upgradable machine, I definitely feel the Acer AOA150 is not only be a good purchase, but a great investment. The white one is the cheapest of the lot, and is available for $299.99.
