Always Innovating Touch Book Review

Always Innovating Touch Book Netbook Review – 5.5/7

There have been great expectations for the “Always Innovating Touch Book”. It is supposed to pack an amazing battery life of more than 10 hours, a tablet screen which is removable and magnetic, and a new and fast ARM processor – This could potentially be an amazing netbook.

Always Innovating Touch Book Netbook Review – Top Features

  • Battery Life – There are two batteries meaning that this netbook should last you from 10-15 hours on the go.
  • Screen – The 1024×600 screen is detachable. Meaning you can carry the tablet alone without the keyboard – making it easier to travel with.
  • Processor – The ARM Processor means that this netbook will be difficult to hear in quiet rooms :). Also, it will not warm up on your lap.
  • Standard Netbook – When the keyboard is connected, this machine can be used like most other traditional netbooks on the market.
  • Different OS Mode for tablet – When in tablet mode a different OS is used meaning that you are not supposed to encounter the major problems seen on tablet netbooks which run Windows XP.
  • Portability – Surprisingly light weight being 2 pounds.

Always Innovating Touch Book Netbook Review – Drawbacks and things to keep in mind

  • Operating Systems – Always Innovating have stated that the Touch Book is not meant to run Windows Operating Systems due to the ARM processor. We do not expect it to run Mac OS X either as well due to the hardware.
  • Storage Space – An 8GB SD card is disappointing considering that most recent netbooks have 20 times more space than this.

Always Innovating Touch Book Netbook Review – Ratings

  1. Price and Value for money – 1 Star. For $299, you can get the tablet alone. Add another $100 and you get a full netbook, with a detachable touchscreen tablet combination – This is a great value for money.
  2. Speed and Performance – 0.5 Star. We will have to wait to until this is fully tested, but Always Innovating have stated there will be some loading times.
  3. Screen – 0.5 Star. This netbook has the standard resolution 1024×600 screen.
  4. Keyboard, Touchpad, Usability – 1 Star. This again has yet to be tested, but with a 95% keyboard and an operating system made suited for large hands, we expect this netbook to be easy to use.
  5. Portability and Battery Life – 1 Star. If this netbook weighs 2 pounds and does have the 10-15 hour battery life – it will truly break boundaries.
  6. Looks and Design – 0.5 Star. The design is fairly simple. It certainly does not stand out.
  7. Extensibility and Connectivity – 1 Star. With blue tooth, Wi-Fi and more USB ports than average, this netbook has the basics down.

That gives the Always Innovating Touch Book an overall of 5.5 Stars of out 7.

Always Innovating Touch Book Netbook Review – Our Recommendation

The Always Innovating Touch Book could be fantastic. The custom Linux operating system could  make it one of the easiest netbook tablets to use.  Add the fact that it is a detachable tablet, and it could truly be used to the fullest – you could simply detach the tablet, and you’re good to watch movies at home on your lap, or even stick it on your fridge while your cooking or eating.

If that doesn’t satisfy you enough, plug in the keyboard and your good to chat to friends and family and get real work done. It looks like a perfect gadget for those of you looking for something different from normal.

Starting at $299, you can buy the Always Innovating Touch Book on their website.
