Apple COO thinks iPad “magic” will kill netbook sales
So we know that Apple have an outstanding track record when it comes to the products they have on offer and the loyalty they enjoy amongst their fan base. But they might be getting a little too cocky when it comes to their new product – the iPad.
Apple’s Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook, who has been using the iPad for the last 6 months, when speaking about how iPads compare to netbooks said “ When they play with the iPad and experience the magic of using it… I have a hard time believing they’re going to go for a netbook.” Cook was speaking at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference in San Francisco.
We found some interesting comparisions on the web that may well prove Mr. Cook wrong. Enjoy:
Or better yet,
On a more serious basis, if you actually run a comparision of all the things that the iPad doesn’t have (yes we know it will probably be very cool, but we’re talking from a functional viewpoint here) the following chart sums it up pretty well wethinks.
While the iPad will in all probability be a successful product, it’s not going to displace the netbook anytime soon. What do you think?
