ASUS Eee Keyboard available for pre-order
There’s been a constant chirp about the ASUS Eee Keyboard for about a year now and it is finally available on amazon for pre-order. The pricing is a bit on the expensive side at $599 and we don’t know if we’d shell out that kind of money for one.
The Keyboard was first put on display at CES 1.5 years ago not surprisingly it features all the specifications of a 2009 model netbook. There’s an Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, Windows XP operating system, 802.11 b/g/n, Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1, 16GB SSD, VGA out, HDMI, and 3 USB ports. For those of you wondering how this works, the Keyboard has a computer built in with a 5 inch multi-touch 800 x 480 pixel display for viewing widgets, apps and others. There is also an HDMI transmitter that lets you use an HDTV as a monitor.
As far as we’re concerned though, this is a unique product offering and that’s where it may find its niche in spite of the slightly overpricing (in our opinion). We don’t know when it will ship, but the ASUS Eee Keyboard is available on amazon for pre-order for $599.
