ASUS Eee PC 1201N arriving shortly!

The ASUS 1201N is expected to begin shipping  to the US markets sometime in December 2009. This is a netbook that has been generating a large amount of interest worldwide. The 1201N will feature the Nvidia Ion graphics card and ASUS promises a much improved multimedia experience (they claim up to 10x faster graphics performance).

The ASUS 1201N has a 12.1″  screen capable of supporting a resolution of 1366×768. The netbook’s technical specs sound impressive with 2GB of RAM, a 250GB HDD (with ASUS offering 500GB of online storage), a full-sized chiclet keyboard and a battery life of over 5 hours.

The 1201N will also feature Windows 7 as its operating system and more importantly, will be the first netbook to incorportate a desktop processor – the Intel 330 1.6GHz dual core processor. ASUS will give customers the option to increase the storage space on disk to 320GB and RAM to 3GB.

We’ve heard indications that the netbook will retail in the US for about $500, which is quite a decent price for the specs. Stay tuned for a review.
