The 2008 7 inch CTL IL1 netbook will have you screaming in glee about the price. At the very same time, it will also have you screaming in shock at the specifications and design. The only reason anyone should buy this $199 CTL netbook is if they have a thing for “retro style” or old looking technology.

• 7 inch – This is one of the few remaining 7 inch netbooks out there. Even modern 10 inch netbooks are not as portable as the old 7 inch netbooks.
• A few netbook features – Integrated 0.3MP camera, Wi-Fi, Windows XP, Supports Linux

CTL IL1 Netbook Review – Drawbacks and Things to keep in mind

• Screen – The screen is at a poor 800×480 pixel resolutions.
• Flash Drive Capacity – With a 4GB flash drive, this netbook has less space than your average memory stick.
• Keyboard and Touchpad – Poor quality
• Performance – After you use a modern netbook the CTL IL1 will feel very slow.

1. Price and Value for money – 0 Star. This netbook looks cheap, feels cheap, and is cheap.
2. Speed and Performance – 0 Star. The 1GHz processor netbook just cannot compete today in terms of running speeds.
3. Screen – 0 star. Low resolution 800×480 pixel screen.
4. Keyboard, Touchpad, Usability – 0 Star. Poor quality keyboard and touchpad.
5. Portability and Battery Life – 0.5 Star. The battery life length is only 3.5-4 hours but this netbook is very small and should be capable of more.
6. Looks and Design – 0.5 Star. This depends on the customer – Old fashioned may be cool to some.
7. Connectivity and Extensibility – 0.5 Star. Well, at least it has Wi-Fi.

That gives the CTL IL1 Netbook an overall rating of 1.5 out of 7 stars.

CTL IL1 Netbook Review - Our Recommendation

If you have not used a computer since 2001, you will think this netbook is great. Unfortunately for this company, most of you have used a computer since that period.

In comparison to modern netbooks the CTL IL1 looks like a cassette player and we do not recommend it unless you are attracted to the plain design. If you do decide to go for it, for the size and potability aspect, you can buy the CTL IL1 Netbook at Amazon for $199
