Dell and Alienware combined to give the world the first real gaming netbook – the M11x which picked up honors at this years CES. It’s been generating a lot of interest amongst gamers as a viable travelling option. And for its size, you’d have to say it packs quite a bit of punch.

Although, it  won’t be available until the 1st of March, you can pre-order this baby from Dell’s website at the starting price of $799. The M11x seems to have all its bases covered. It’s got a rugged and uber-cool black exterior with the usual Alien head on the cover. The base specifications include an 11.6″ screen, Windows 7 Home, Intel Pentium SU4100 1.3GHz processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and the new nVidia GeForce GT 335M graphics card with 1GB of graphics memory. Dell claims that the M11x will deliver “the graphics power of a 15-inch laptop in an 11-inch form factor.”

Upgrades include the more powerful Intel SU7300 processor, upto 8GB RAM and Hard Disks with various capacities. The colors the M11x comes in are black and silver. You can also chose from color options for the system’s LED lighting.

The battery life of the M11X will vary from 3 to 6 hours, as users are able to switch between a power-hungry but competent graphics card and a more sober, less guzzly one.
