It looks like Dell is getting a move on in 2010 with some exciting new releases rumored to be up their sleeves. Among the products that are supposed to be on the anvil are a few Android based smartphones and a couple of tablets.

Smartphones

The mills started when tech site Engadget reportedly got hold of a presentation on the Windows 7 based “Lightning” smartphone. Phone features include the 1.0Ghz Snapdragon processor, a 4.1 inch screen, 5 megapixel camera, and an 8GB micro SD card. The Lightning will also support GPS, Flash and have an in-built compass.

The next smartphone on the grapevine is the “Thunder”, which will be tailored to social networking sites with an 8 megapixel camera and photo editing capabilities. Then there’s the 5 megapixel, 3.5 inch touchscreen “Flash” which will support…what else but Adobe Flash.

Tablets

Two tablets that Dell seems to be working on are the 7-inch “Looking Glass” and the 5-inch “Streak”. The Looking Glass will be android based and features 4GB of RAM, 3G, Bluetooth and an optional TV Tuner card.

The Streak is the more interesting model being a smartphone that functions as a tablet. We don’t know how exactly that will work, but we have word that the Streak might have connections with Amazon, music stores, video stores, newspapers and magazines.
