Kickass New Alienware Gaming Netbook

We’ve written posts detailing the HP Mini 311, ASUS 1201N, MSI U230 and Acer AS1410 as the better netbooks to game on, but they’ve been overshadowed and how.

Alienware have given a hint of their new gaming netbook the M11X at the CES. The M11X features an uber-cool 11.6 inch display, is Intel Core 2 Duo powered, and has Nvidia GT335M switchable graphics (with 1GB of dedicated memory!). This netbook is a laptop in disguise with 3D Mark scores of 6-7k. You can play Crysis at 50fps and Call of Duty on high settings at 30fps, which is supremely impressive for a netbook.

The netbook incorporates a lot of Alienware-ish design and style elements with red backlit keyboard and trackpad. The keyboard has nice curved keys with great tactile feedback. Dell and Alienware who have released the M11X in conjunction say that you’ll get 3 hours of gaming time, but if you switch the graphics and use it for non-gaming, this increases to over 6 hours. The ports include 3 x USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA, Display port, mini FireWire and even a SIM slot for HSDPA.

The M11X will ship from February onwards, and reputedly has a price tag of under $1000. Initial indications are it will be totally worth it! Check out Revision3′s video:
