Toshiba were a late entrant into the netbook market and they took advantage of this to really study what their competition was doing that worked. The end result was the NB205, a netbook which seems to be pretty average when it comes to its technical specifications but really scores on design and ease of use. The chassis looks fabulous and has a really solid tank-like build. It really appealed to all the males here at netbookreview because of its rugged military look. The keyboard and touchpad combine to form one of the most comfortable user interfaces out there. To top it off, the battery life is upwards of 7 hours. 2. Samsung GO N130 Midnight Blue Netbook
The GO N130 is an awesome netbook and a great gifting idea. This is because it’s great looking, has a long battery life and is really comfortable to use (one of the best keyboards around). It also comes in at a not so expensive $350 on amazon. Conceptualized by Japanese designer Naoto Furukawa, GO N130 has curved edges and resembles a pebble. We think it rocks. :) to everyone who got that one.
3. Acer Aspire AS1410 Netbook
If your boy-o is holding out on a netbook because he thinks it won’t compare to a notebook, the AS1410 is here to prove him wrong. This is a performance-oriented netbook and features a Intel Core 2SU3500 Processor (much more powerful than the standard Atom series), 2GB of RAM at 667 MHz and a 250GB HDD – a pretty sweet deal at $431. Also we forgot to mention the 11.6″ screen with a resolution of 1366×768. For gadget geeks, this one is the way to go.

The next time yourboyfriend asks for space, this is what you give him (after whatever physical harm that you deem necessary, of course). The Western Digital 1 TB Hard Drive is a solid, functional compartment of storage. It runs silent, doesn’t heat up, is plug-and-play and has a one year warranty. “So what” you say. “It’s just another hard drive.” And that’s where your wrong. If this was the worst piece of crap hard drive ever to have left a machine assembly line, we bet it would still sell decently. And that’s cause it looks awesome! It’s built like a small tank with a sleek body and industrial grills. This looks like a bat gadget and the little boy in your man will be thrilled to bits with it. Guaranteed. 5. Altec Lansing BXR1220 Speaker System
Here at netbookreview, we’re all about giving you goodlooking products that also perform well. An addition to this list are the Altec Lansing BXR1220s. The sound quality is awesome for the $15.95 price tag, and the fact that the speakers don’t need a separate power outlet puts this into the category of a portable speaker set. The speakers look really cool as well, like a set of congos laid out onto their side.
6. Caselogic LNEO netbook sleeve
This is a nice looking sleeve for netbooks upto 10 inches. While this is not going to protect your netbook from a fall, it will suffice for minor bumps. The handles seem kind of useless at first, since you’d plan on putting the sleeve into a case. But for all the times that you don’t, they are a welcome addition. The padded section in the front is big enough to fit a power cord and a mouse. It’s available on amazon at the decent price of $15.50 and in three colours – black, grey and magenta.
7. Sennheiser HD 202 Headphones
To be honest, most netbooks have lousy built-in speakers and you need something additional, if you plan on hearing audio of any kind. The Sennheiser HD202 is a spanking set of headphones available at only $22. They have amazing sound fidelity and a comfortable cushioning around the ears. The phones respond satisfactorily to all genres of music and are really effective at blocking out any sound. I’ve constantly had to be tapped on my shoulder because even yelling near my ears was drowned out. This would make a very cool gift for your boyfriend/hubby. But don’t blame us if they listen to you even less once they get their hands on this pair of headphones!
