Acer A110 Review

Rating: 5.5/7
The 8.9″ Acer Aspire One A110 definitely catches the eye- with its slim futuristic design, it looks like something out of a ‘Star Trek’ movie.

If you’re looking for portable, you certainly have it here – at 2.2 kg this petite netbook  is just a tad larger than a magazine. Nice.

With the Acer Aspire A110, you are also spoiled for choice – several models are available in a variety of colors. You can choose between the 8GB SSD with an additional 8GB flash module, or a 160GB HDD version.

Acer A110 Review – Top features

  • Price – excellent value for money with this netbook
  • Ultra portable – measuring in at only 249 x 170 x 29 mm and weighing just 2.2lbs.
  • Stylish design – attractive glossy cover available in either seashel white or sapphire blue colours.
  • Keyboard – a 95% keyboard ensures comfort and accuracy when typing.

Acer A110 – Drawbacks and things to keep in mind

  • Screen – At 8.9″, the screen may be too small for those accutomed to larger screens.
  • Mousepad – this is on either side of the touchpad may well take some time getting used to.
  • Battery life – the three-cell 2200Mah battery gives a relatively poor battery of only 3 hours.
  • Linux – on the 8 GB SSD model – keep this in mind if you want SSD but are not accustomed to the Linux operating system.

Acer A110 Review – Our Recommendation

On a budget? Looking for a stylish netbook to brandish to your pals at work? This is the netbook for you.

The Acer Aspire A110 is powerful enough to allow mutli-tasking and a comfortable web browsing experience, but compact enough to be tucked away in a small backpack. In addition, the 120GB model is more than enough to save a few thousand pictures and videos, as well as those all important work documents – this is one for work and play.

There are several versions available = a 2.5 hour 16GB white version for $299, a 2.5 hour 16GB blue one for $320, a 6.5 hour 160GB black one for $370 (also available in blue)
