  • Keyboard and Touchpad- The keyboard is not fantastic, and the touchpad is not as good as newer and more expensive netbook models.
  • Battery Life – For a “6 cell” battery model, the Velocity Micro M10 battery length is much lower than it should be.

  1. Price and Value for money – 0.5 Star. You will simply get what you pay for with the Velocity Micro M10.
  2. Speed and Performance – 0.5 Star. The Velocity Micro M10 will get your standard applications up and running smoothly.
  3. Screen – 0.5 Star. The screen is fairly standard for netbooks – It is a good at 1024 x 600 pixel resolutions.
  4. Keyboard, Touchpad, Usability – 0.5 Star. The Velocity Micro cannot compete with netbooks like the ASUS 1008HA and the Sony VAIO W in terms of keyboard and/or touchpad quality.
  5. Portability and Battery Life – 0.5 Star. This netbook is fairly light at 2.5 pounds. Although the battery life is 4-5 hours, it is definitely not at the 6 hour mark advertised.
  6. Looks and Design – 0.5 Star. It won’t be labeled “fashion statement”, but the design is nice and simple.
  7. Connectivity and Extensibility – 1 Star. The crucial features are down for this category.

That gives the Velocity Micro M10 and overall rating of 4 stars out of 7.

In terms of specifications, this netbook has some nice features – Ethernet and Wi-Fi for Internet on the go. A large 160GB Hard drive for storing music and files. A webcam and mic for chatting to friends and family. A standard processor for getting work done and running basic applications. But not much more.

Who is this netbook for? Well, this is definitely a budget netbook – something for those of you who aren’t too touchy about the keyboard and touchpad quality but need something small and additional to go out with, or to use indoors.     I BOUGHT THIS NEW FOR $250 AND FOR THE PRICE IT’S GREAT!!! THE BATTERY IS ABOUT 2 1/2 TO MAYBE 3 HOURS. I WAS VERY FRUSTRATED IN THE BEGINNING CUZ IT HAS SOME HOTKEY APPLICATION THAT KEEPS THE WIRELESS FUNCTION DISABLED AND WON’T WORK. AS A RESULT, I THOUGHT THAT THE COMPUTER WAS MALFUNCTIONED AND THE HANDBOOK DOES NOT STATE THAT YOU MUST ENABLE THIS FUNCTION AS A MEANS TO TURN THE WIRELESS ON. UNTIL THIS IS ENABLED, WIRELESS WON’T WORK, AND I WAS SO FRUSTRATED THAT I FELT LIKE THROWING THE DARN THING AGAINST THE WALL. AND YES, EVERY TIME THE COMPUTER SHUTS OFF, THE WIRELESS IS DISABLED. SO WHEN I FIGURED IT OUT, THE LIL’ NETBOOK IS AS CUTE AS A BUTTON. IN CONCLUSION, I WILL SAY THAT IT’S NOT WORTH ANYTHING OVER $350, BUT FOR WHAT I PAID FOR IT BEING A NEW , I’M WELL SATISFIED. I WILL JUST HAVE TO SEE IF I GET A FEW YEARS OUT OF THIS MACHINE.
